Prime accused in illegal gun sale lodged in prison

The Crime Branch CID team on Tuesday produced Bansingh Thakur - the prime accused arrested in connection with illegally selling guns in Tamil Nadu before a Judicial Magistrate court here.

The Court remanded him to judicial custody till October 15.

He was lodged in Tiruchi Central Prison.

Bansingh Thakur, 47, - hailing from Madhya Pradesh – was arrested by a CB-CID team at Bhopal railway station on September 27 and produced before a local court.

After obtaining a transit warrant, the team brought him to Tiruchi and produced him before the Judicial Magistrate Court- VI on Tuesday evening. The CB-CID has registered a case under the Arms Act against him.
