Secures 95.15 pass percentage in Plus Two examination

With an overall pass percentage of 95.15 in Plus Two examinations, Perambalur district has found itself among the top three in the State this year.

The district stood 12th last year.

Ranked third at the State level, it is next only to Tiruppur (95.37%) and Erode (95.23%).

“Routine monitoring and frequent visits is reflected in the much improved performance of the district,” Chief Educational Officer K. Arularangan said.

Out of 8,410 students, 8,002 passed the exam. Eight out of 40 government schools scored centum results. Likewise, four aided schools, eight self-financed State board schools, and 10 matric schools scored centum results, he said.

Perambalur district has 71 schools: 43 in Perambalur educational district and 28 in Veppur educational district.

Tiruchi

In terms of overall pass percentage, Tiruchi district has moved up to 13th position from last year’s 15th. The district has recorded 93.56 pass percentage compared to 92.9 last year.

Like in previous years, girls have scored better with an overall pass percentage of 96 compared to 90.71 by boys.

Of the 3,44,82 candidates, 32,260 have secured pass marks. Of them, 17,820 are girls and 14,440 boys.

Out of 247 schools, 93 have scored centum results. Fifteen out of 87 government schools have scored centum results.

In terms of subject-wise performance, Tiruchi district accounts for 63 centums in Computer Science, two each in Economics and Biology, one each in Physics, Botany and Business Maths, three each in Chemistry and Mathematics, 19 in Commerce, and 42 in Accountancy.

Karur

Karur district has secured 94.07% overall pass in the Plus Two exams. Out of 10,460 candidates, who have secured pass marks, 5,541 are girls.

Ariyalur

Ariyalur district has registered an overall pass percentage of 84.72%. A total of 5,177 students from 49 schools appeared for the exam.

Nagapattinam

In Nagapattinam district, the overall pass percentage is 87.45. A total number of 15,584 students — 6,363 boys and 9,221 girls — appeared for the exam.

Pudukottai

Pudukottai district has secured 90.01 overall pass percentage.

A total of 18,191 candidates emerged successful.
