NCC cadets celebrate Hero's Day

The Bishop Heber College Alumni Army NCC Association and 3/1 Tiger Company NCC Army Wing of Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi, jointly celebrated Hero's Day here recently.

Over 1,000 NCC cadets from different colleges and NCC officers from the State participated. The Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kumar Yadav recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters to the country's independence.

Stating that the future of the country was in the hands of the younger generation, he exhorted future citizens to lead a disciplined life style, work hard, and acquire leadership qualities.

He paid tributes to Captain T.Sahaya Selvaraj and Lieutenant Parthiban, both alumni of Bishop Heber College, who sacrificed their life for the cause of the nation.

The College Principal Paul Dayabaran, Lieutenant Colonel Kumar, Punjab National Bank, Deputy General Manager and Circle Head Ms.Latha, Major Somasundaram and K.Premkumar, Company Commander, NCC Army Wing of the college participated. The parents of Capt Sahaya Selvaraj and Lt. Parthiban were honoured. Prizes were distributed to winners in various competitions.
