Multimedia campaign on welfare schemes begins

Demonstration on preparing nutritious diet for adolescent girls and pregnant mothers everyday

A 10-day multimedia campaign and government exhibition was declared open at Tiruverumbur by Collector Jayashree Muralidharan on Friday.

The exhibition features stalls by various government departments highlighting the government schemes and projects and its achievements.

Officials of the Integrated Child Development Scheme would demonstrate and explain preparation of nutritious diet for adolescent girls and pregnant mothers everyday at the exhibition.

The Animal Husbandry Department would organise pet show at the fair.

Various cultural events have also been lined up. The exhibition at the BHEL Training Centre would be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. everyday.

An entry fee of Rs.3 for adults and Rs.2 for children would be collected.

Applications for various government schemes such as old age pension, farmers protection scheme and patta transfers would also be received at the camp.

The Collector also distributed welfare assistance worth Rs.48 lakhs to 185 beneficiaries on the occasion.
