Makkal Nala Paniyalargals of the district observed fast here on Monday urging the State government to reinstate them.

Family members of the Makkal Nala Paniyalargals also took part in the day-long fast that was organised near the Khadi Kraft junction here.

It was led by the Tamil Nadu Makkal Nala Paniyalargals Association Tiruchi district organiser A. Rajkumar.

The association said the State government had put the lives of the Makkal Nala Paniyalargals and their families at stake by dismissing the workers.

It urged the government to give up its “anti worker” attitude and withdraw its decision of dismissing the workers which the association claimed was taken out of “vendetta”.
