Forest Department officials seized 12 skulls of jackals and arrested K. Rajan, R. Durai and D. Elayaraja during a raid conducted at Samayapuram near here on Friday.
The raid was conducted following a tip off to the officials here from the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Chennai, a couple of days ago based on which a close watch was maintained.
A team went to Samayapuram bus stand on Friday and held the three who had in their possession the jackal skulls meant for sale. The team conducted an inquiry with the three following the seizure.
Capture and sale of jackal were prohibited.
