: The Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi (IJK), a part of the Bharathiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance in Tamil Nadu, has voiced support to the BJP candidate for the Srirangam byelection.

The IJK cadre will go all out seeking support from the electorate for the BJP candidate M. Subramaniam, the IJK founder T.R. Pachamuthu said here on Sunday. A meeting of the party functionaries was held in this regard, he told reporters here.

Mr. Pachamuthu, who contested unsuccessfully from the Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency as part of the NDA alliance in the 2014 parliamentary polls, said he would campaign for the BJP candidate for a week in the run up to the by election.

Stating that the two Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu were mired in corruption, he said the State required a corrupt-free party.
