IG-villagers meet tomorrow

The Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, K.Chockalingam, will interact with residents of villages in Tiruverambur police division on December 9 to discuss steps for crime prevention.

The meeting will be held at Santhosh Mahal in Kailash Nagar, Kattur in the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Tiruchi rural, R. Lalitha Lakshmi and officials of Tiruverambur, BHEL, Navalpattu, Thuvakudi, and Manikandam police stations.

The purpose of the meeting is to sensitise the people about the functioning of the proposed village vigilance committees as supportive mechanism to the police machinery. The police department intends to form 30 member committees in each village and 20 member committees in each hamlet for undertaking patrolling. The public can also spell out their grievances.
