March 29, 2019 09:12 am | Updated 09:12 am IST - TIRUCHI

Congress candidate Su. Thirunavukarasar on Thursday said he had been nominated by his party for Tiruchi Parliamentary constituency as he was familiar to Tiruchi and Pudukottai districts.

Speaking at a workers’ meeting of DMK alliance here, he said he had been in politics for 42 years in various capacities. He was not new to either Tiruchi or Pudukottai. While DMDK candidate V. Elangovan was an outsider, he was very much part of the region.

Mr. Thirunavukarasar said time had come to send the Narendra Modi and Edappadi K. Palaniswami governments packing. The Modi government had failed to implement the promises given to the electorate. Hence, people would extend overwhelming support to the DMK-Congress alliance in the State.

Hoping that the parties of the alliance would work hard to win the confidence of voters, the Congress candidate said he would use all of his experience to change the profile of the of the constituency.

K.N. Nehru and leaders of various parties participated.
