A regional-level animal husbandry and fisheries exhibition and a health camp are planned to be held in Srirangam constituency in connection with Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's birthday celebration on February 24.

The three-day technical exhibition on animal husbandry and fish rearing would be held on the Boys Higher Secondary School campus at Srirangam from Friday, while the medical camp to be conducted by special medical teams from the Apollo Hospitals would be held at Government Higher Secondary School campus at Somarasampettai on Friday.

The exhibition would feature various stalls covering aspects of cattle rearing, poultry farming, fish rearing and value added products. While farmers already engaged in these vocations would be able to source latest techniques and products, those who wish to take up self employment would be provided with bank linkages. Seminars and workshops would also form part of the exhibition.

About 100 doctors of various specialities and 300 para medics would be involved in conducting the free medical camp at Somarasampettai. Tele-medicine facility, to obtain expert advice, would also be available at the camp. Various diagnostic facilities and medicines would be offered free of cost.

Those requiring follow up treatment and surgeries would be covered under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.

Meanwhile, the Tiruchi Corporation would launch a mass cleaning campaign in the city, which would be launched at Srirangam on the day.

The district administration has already announced that a greening drive would be launched across the district on the day.
