Feasts mark Anna death anniversary observation

Public feasts were organised at Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple, Rockfort Thayumanaswamy Temple, Samayapuram Mariamman Temple, Vayalur Murugan Temple, Vekkalimman Temple, and other major temples in the district to mark the death anniversary observation of former Chief Minister Anna on Friday.

Collector Jayashree Muralidharan participated in the feast at Samayapuram Mariamman Temple, while Mayor A.Jaya took part in the feast at the Srirangam temple.

Statue garlanded

Cadres of various political parties paid respects to the memory of late Anna by garlanding his statue and portraits across the district on Friday. The cadre of the urban district unit of the AIADMK garlanded the statue of Anna. A.Jaya, Mayor, Asick Meera, Deputy Mayor and others were present. The cadre of DMK also garlanded the statue of the late leader.

A.Malarmannan, former MLA and secretary of the urban district unit of the party led the MDMK men, in garlanding the statue of Anna. Vijayarajan, secretary of the urban district unit of the DMDK, led the partymen in garlanding the statue.
