DRI seizes foreign currencies at airport, arrests 3

Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Saturday arrested three passengers and seized ₹37 lakh worth of foreign currencies including US dollars and Saudi Riyal.

Acting on inputs, the officials searched the belongings of the passengers minutes before the departure of Air India Express bound for Sharjah.

Ashraf Ali (33), Prem Nazeer (33) of Tiruchi and Mohammed Rizwan of Chennai, who allegedly possessed the foreign currencies, were taken into custody.

According to sources, further enquiry was on.
