Benefits under government schemes will reach all eligible applicants, District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan assured on Monday, during the gram sabha meeting conducted in connection with the Independence Day celebration, at S.Ayyampalayam panchayat in Manachanallur Panchayat Union.
Gram sabha meetings in all panchayats serve as a forum for the residents to highlight their requirements, she said, adding that there was no end to carrying out developmental works.
Ms.Jayashree cautioned women self help groups against falling prey to enticing approach of private financial institutions, which, she pointed out, keep borrowers in perennial debt.
The Collector announced that the village will be soon be brought under the Cauvery Combined Drinking Water Supply Scheme, and highlighted the simplified process for patta transfer.
The president of Ayyampalayam panchayat S.M.Selvaraj also spoke. The Project Officer of District Rural Development Agency M.Santhosh Kumar; Project Officer of Mahalir Thittam P.Vijayalakshmi; Assistant Collector – Training, R.Shanmugapriya, and other senior officials took part. Accompanied by the HR and CE Joint Commissioner Ilamparithi, the Collector also took part in the Jamabandi at Samayapuram Mariamman Temple and at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam.
