Cultural competitions for children to be held on January 25

District level cultural competitions will be held under the auspices of Jawahar Bal Bhavan of Department of Art and Culture to identify and promote the talents of children.

The contest will be held for three categories in the age-group 5-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-16 years for vocal, dance and painting events.

An official press release issued here on Friday said that only Tamil isai songs will be permitted for vocal contest. No film song will be entertained.

For the dance events, children can perform Bharathanatyam and folk dance. Candidates participating in the painting competitions should bring the required materials, the release added.

The competition will be held at 10-00 a.m. on January 25 on the campus of Government Music School, Night Soil Depot Road, Moolathoppe, Srirangam, the release added.

Further details can be had by dialling 0431-2434122. Students should register their names at 9-30 a.m. on the competition day. Winners in the age groups 9-12 years and 13-16 years would be sent for the state level competition.
