Congress cadre on Tuesday took out silent processions in Tiruchi and other towns in Central region to mark the 28th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
A procession from the party’s district unit office to Marakkadai in Tiruchi was led by former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.
Mr. Chidambaram administered anti-terrorism pledge to the party cadre. The party’s Tiruchi urban district president, V. Jawahar, and other members participated. Silent processions were also taken out in Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukottai and Thanjavur.
