Classes of the Indian Institute of Management-Tiruchirapalli would soon move to its new campus established off the Tiruchi-Pudukottai Highway, according to its Director Bhimaraya Metri. The IIM has been functioning on the National Institute of Technology campus temporarily.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the sixth batch of Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and the seventh batch of Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) on Tuesday, he said the new batch of students would start their courses in the new campus, spread over 175 acres. A state-of-the-art library and research centre were among the facilities established for the students and teachers on the new campus, he said.

Asking the students to think big, Mr. Metri said global restructuring had been taking place with more and more countries adding to the list of large number of ageing population. It would open up many opportunities to the Indian students, which need to be tapped well. “Dream big, learn and unlearn many things. There is no substitute for hard work and at the same time smart work is imperative,” he added. This would have serious ramifications and the students must take note of the developments to compete with new challenges. Muthukumar Thanu, Chief Human Resource Officer, TAFE Group, emphasised the need to set direction so as to find opportunities in adversities.
