A couple of bronze idols were reported stolen from the Dharmaraja Temple at Semmangudi village near Nachiyarkoil in Thanjavur district on Friday night. The idols stolen were that of Draupadi Amman and Arjunan, said police sources.

The crime came to light on Saturday morning when the priest found the lock of the main door of the temple broken and a couple of idols kept inside stolen. Police said it was a private temple. The Nachiyarkoil police has registered a case.
