Applications invited for Deepavali shops

The district administration has invited applications from traders who wish to put up temporary platform shops in front of the Town Hall ahead of Deepavali.

Collector K.S. Palanisamy said the procedure followed last year would be adopted this year. Shop areas of 80 square feet each would be allotted under three categories based on their location. Thirty seven shops in A category, 19 in B category, and 24 shops in C category would be allotted.

The fee would be Rs. 4,000 for A category shops, Rs. 3,500 for B category, and Rs. 3,000 for C category. Applications, indicating the category of shop accompanied by the fee in demand draft drawn in favour of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruchirapalli, should be submitted at the RDO office before 5.45 p.m. on November 2. If the number of applicants exceeded the shops, the allotment would be made by draw of lots in the RDO’s office at 11 a.m. on November 3.
