Prominent industrialist passes away

Prominent industrialist V. K. N. Kannappan (72) died here in the early hours of Sunday.

Chairman of V. K. N. Group of companies, Mr. Kannappan had been ailing for some time and suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital where he breathed his last.

Mr. Kannappan was the chairman, Board of Trustees of Samayapuram Arulmigu Mariamman Temple during the DMK regime. He had been undergoing dialysis following kidney failure. His wife passed away a couple of years ago.

Mr. Kannappan is survived by three sons. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam working president M. K. Stalin flew down to Tiruchi from Chennai and offered his condolences to the family.

Mr. Stalin was accompanied by former minister K. N. Nehru, Rajya Sabha member Tiruchi Siva and party functionaries.
