Cyclone signal hoisted at Nagapattinam port

Signal 3 has been hoisted on Saturday at the Nagapattinam port office indicating cyclone. The cyclone has been marked at a distance of 750 kms between Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. The wind speed has been marked between 55 kms per hour and 85 kms per hour, according to the port sources.

The sea was very rough at different places and the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. The district administration has stopped issuing tokens to fisherfolk.

Tirupoondi received the maximum rainfall of 42 m.m. in the last 24 hours that ended at 8 a.m. on Saturday followed by Vedaranyam which got 31.4 m.m.; Tarangambadi 24 m.m.; Nagapattinam 17 m.m.; Talaignayar 8.4 m.m. and Mayiladuthurai 5.1 m.m.
