The town branch of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation has bagged the overall fuel efficiency (5.75 k.m. a litre) award for the period from January 2016 to January 2017 in Pudukottai region.
A sustained training for drivers and close monitoring on use of fuel consumption had resulted in the efficiency, officials said. Branch manager K. Senthilkumar reviewed bus-wise fuel efficiency every day and guided all drivers of buses, said G. Balasubramanian, Divisional Manager (technical) of the Corporation. He said that 10 old buses had been replaced by new ones which contributed to fuel efficiency.
R. Rangarajan, Managing Director, presented the award to Mr. Senthilkumar.
