The District Revenue Officer, Thanjavur, S. Suresh Kumar, who has been nominated Observer for the bypoll to Ward 28 of the City Corporation, inspected the arrangements on Monday.
He ascertained the number of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and other facilities at the polling booths.
T.T. Balsamy, Corporation Commissioner cum Returning Officer and Rupesh Kumar Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) were present. Earlier, Mr. Suresh Kumar went to the polling booth at Ariyamangalam and ensured that the booth had adequate basic amenities and a ramp for differently abled persons. At the Corporation office, he verified the nomination papers filed by candidates.S. Raja Mohamad, City Engineer, was among those present.
