A 10-feet-long python was rescued from Kirubha Nagar in Palayamkottai on Thursday. Fire and rescue services personnel, who caught the python, also recovered 30 eggs of the snake from its nest.

After the residents sighted the python slithering through thorny bushes behind a fish farm, they informed the Palayamkottai Fire Station on Thursday. When the personnel scanned the thorny bushes, they saw the python lying around its eggs.

Rescuing the snake and the eggs, they handed over them to forest officials, who said they would take them to Kalakkad Reserve Forest area.
