The AYUSH conclave will help in the scientific utilisation of indigenous knowledge, Health Minister, K. K. Shylaja has said.

Inaugurating the local self-government bodies’ meet organised as part of the AYUSH conclave here on Friday, she said that the conclave was meant to interpret indigenous knowledge in a scientific manner so that it is useful for the public. AYUSH Department has been working closely with local bodies in the State and this has resulted in Indian systems of medicine institutions being established across the State, Ms. Shylaja said.

Kerala has already secured Yoga Naturopathy Institute, Yunani institute and Ayurveda Sports hostel.

The foundation for the International Ayurveda Research Institute will be laid by the Chief Minister on February 22 and this would pave the way for major research and development activities in Ayurveda sector, she added.
