A native of Tamil Nadu was arrested by the Nedumangad police for allegedly harbouring one of the accused who had purportedly attacked police officers on a recent hartal day.

The police identified the accused as Manikandan, 37, of Chemponvilai in Kanyakumari. The accused, a RSS worker, is the co-brother of another accused Mahesh of Anad whom he allegedly harboured while he was on the run to evade arrest, following the incident.

A group of BJP and RSS workers had allegedly attacked a police team including Nedumangad Sub-Inspector Sunil Gopi during the hartal that was called by the Sabarimala Karma Samithi.
