The plans of the Travancore Titanium Products to diversify its production and tap its Research and Development potential are bearing fruition.

The public sector unit is all set to launch five value-added products on Tuesday. The products to be launched include road-marking paint, iron oxide, white gypsum, bricks and interlocking tiles. Company chairman A.A. Rashid and managing director George Ninan announced the product launches.

The thermoplastic road-marking paint, which is used to mark either ends and the middle of the road, provides an accurate idea of the road to the drivers especially at night.

Talks have been held with the PWD regarding the usage of the paint for all the major road works. Titanium is the first company in the State to develop this paint.

The company will also launch Iron Oxide pigment, used for providing colour in the production of paints, plastic, paper, ink and tiles. It will be available in the market under two varieties — Ajantox Red and Ajantox Black. Another product to be launched is gypsum, a major raw material in the production of cement. It will be available in the market under the brand name of Ajantox Gypsum.

Ajantox bricks and Ajantox tiles are also ready for launch. A guest house will be built in the campus using Ajantox bricks to serve as a model.

“We will focus more on our research wing in the coming years. The Pollution Control Board conducted a day-long inspection few months ago. We have been given clearance for the next five years,” said Mr. Rashid.
