Seminar on reducing pollution

A seminar on ‘Pollution reduction for combating climate change’ will be organised by the city-based Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) as part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 20.

To be held at the Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala, the seminar inaugural will be followed by a technical session.

Katharine A. Owens, Associate Professor, University of Hartford, U.S., and Fulbright Nehru Fellow, University of Kerala, will speak on the topic ‘Marine debris.’

Dileepkumar, former engineer in the Kerala State Pollution Control will speak on ‘Air pollution – status and challenges.’

An inter-collegiate quiz on environment will be conducted as part of the event, to be supported by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. Registration will begin at 9.30 a.m.
