A remand prisoner in the Neyyattinkara subjail died under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.

Rajagopal, 43, an accused in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act case, had been remanded after his arrest by Kovalam police a fortnight ago. On Thursday, he felt uneasy and was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital but died, the police said. However, his family alleged that there were marks of beatings on his body and demanded a post-mortem examination led by the RDO.
