A petition was filed in the Kerala High Court on Thursday by K.K.Rema, wife of slain Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T.P. Chandrasekharan , seeking to cancel the parole granted to P.K. Kunjanandan, one of the CPI(M) leaders convicted in the murder case.

In her petition, Ms. Rema pointed out that her husband was brutally murdered on May 4, 2012 by CPI(M) workers.

He was an active member of the CPI(M). But her husband left the party and formed a new party, Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP), following sharp differences with CPI(M) leaders.

Her husband’s party had great influence among the people at Onchiyam in Kozhikode. Therefore, the CPI(M) wanted to make a dent on the growth of the RMP and a conspiracy was hatched by a section of CPI(M) leaders to kill her hubsand.

The prosecution case was that a section of CPI(M) leaders in Kozhikode and Kannur districts allegedly hatched a conspiracy and hired a seven-member gang to kill Chandrasekharan, who had walked out of the party and floated a dissident outfit.

12 convicted

The Kozhikode Special Additional Sessions Court had convicted 12 accused, including three leaders of the CPI(M).
