Disaster relief funds have been pouring in from various quarters over the past few days.

Apart from the various State governments that have announced assistance to the State, several prominent individuals and organisations too have come up with support for the government and handed or transferred the committed sums to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). Prominent among them are the Tata Trust and ICICI Bank, which contributed ₹10 crore each, Gulf-based industrialists M.A. Yusuffali and B. Ravi Pillai, who donated ₹5 crore each, State Bank of India that donated ₹2 crore, US-based industrialist Babu Stephen, who contributed ₹1 crore, and the Power Grid Corporation of India that contributed ₹1 crore. The Aditya Birla Group and Hyundai Motor India Limited have contributed ₹50 lakh each and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar ₹20 lakh. Earlier, actors Mohanlal and Mammootty had contributed ₹25 lakh each. Many others too have come forward to support the State.
