Police chief issues directive

Police officers should not collect money from the relatives of a deceased person for videography and other expenses when the body is taken for post-mortem examination, State Police Chief (SPC) T.P. Senkumar has said. Demanding money for post-mortem expenses from the families was a human rights violation, Mr. Senkumar said in his directive. If possible, police videographers should be used. In case, videographers from outside were engaged the expenses should be included in the inquiry expenses, he said. — Special Correspondent
