One person was killed and another injured when the motorbike they were riding collided with a lorry at Vazhamuttam, near Kovalam, here around 11.30 a.m. on Friday.
The Kovalam police identified the deceased as Christudas Martin, 25, of Pulluvila, near Karumkulam, while the injured was his friend, Justin, 25, also from Pulluvila.
Both were working in the Gulf and were on leave, with Christudas having got married only on December 18. He was killed on the spot.
Justin, who sustained head injuries, is under treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital here. His condition was stated to be out of danger.
The city traffic police have registered a case.
