Onam trade fair begins tomorrow

Handicrafts, books, household utensils and furniture, and clothing are among the attractions of Kerala Tourism’s Onam Trade Fair and Exhibition 2015, commencing at the Sooryakanthi exhibition grounds on the Kanakakunnu palace premises from August 24. Organised in connection with the Statewide Onam celebrations, the fair, which will go on for 11 days, will have 100 stalls, with participation of 10 government departments and agencies, trade and industry representatives, and non-government organisations.

Self-help groups

Participation of self-help groups, including Kudumbasree and Janasree, will showcase women empowerment, K.S. Sabarinathan, MLA, and chairman of the exhibition committee told a press conference here on Saturday.
