Motorbike thefts: one held

The Parassala police on Friday nabbed Baiju, 35, accused in over a 100 motorbike theft cases across Kerala and Tamil Nadu and who, over the years, had acquired the moniker of ‘Parakkum Thalika’ or ‘Flying Saucer’ owing to the speed at which he fled the spot to reach the State borders. A resident of Konniyoor, Nedumangad, Baiju was arrested along with a stolen motorbike during a vehicle inspection.

N. Jayakumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Neyyattinkara, said Baiju was an accused in motorbike thefts and house burglary cases. He said the police had recovered from Baiju three motorbikes that had been stolen.
