May 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Two men fell from atop a lodge run by the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation at Ulloor late last night, with one of them succumbing to his injuries at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital while the other is in a critical condition. According to the Medical College police, Ratheesh, 38, a daily wage labourer, was staying in the lodge for the last three months. Vipin was an autorickshaw driver.

Both of them, natives of Akkulam, were allegedly alcoholics, and on Thursday, are reported to have gone to the terrace of the lodge.

The police said it was not clear how both of them fell, though there were indications of a scuffle, along with beer bottles on the terrace. Though the police immediately shifted both of them to the MCH, Ratheesh died within half-an-hour of reaching the hospital. Vipin, who has serious injuries, is still under treatment in the MCH.
