The Medical College police had been on his trail since last month after the group’s Thiruvananthapuram manager Joy Shadanan lodged a complaint, stating that Shiyaz, after introducing himself as the manager of the Lulu International Group, had tried to purchase car accessories worth Rs.1 lakh from a prominent motor accessories shop at Kesavadasapuram in the city.

However, the shop owner got suspicious and prevented the sale from going through, following which Shiyaz fled the spot.

It was found out that he had also stayed in a five-star hotel near Model School Junction here as well under the same fictitious identity. However, he had paid the bill there.
