Kollam Pooram on April 15

The Kollam Pooram held in connection with the annual Vishu festival of the Asramam Sree Krishna Swamy temple here will be held at the Asramam maidan on April 15 evening.

The Kollam Pooram held in connection with the annual Vishu festival of the Asramam Sree Krishna Swamy temple here will be held at the Asramam maidan on April 15 evening.

Rituals preceding the pooram event on the day include the cherupooram ezhunallathu from 14 temples in the city at 9 a.m., ana neerattu (bathing the elephants) at 11 a.m., anayoottu (feast for the elephants) at 12 noon, and poora sadya at 12.30 p.m.

The pooram festivities will commence at 5.30 p.m. and the public meeting in this connection will be inaugurated by Travancore Devaswom Board president Prayar Goplakrishnan. The kudamattam ritual will be inaugurated by actor Suresh Gopi.
