Leading Chinese outbound tour operators have shown keen interest in Kerala at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2015, which concluded at the Chinese capital on Sunday.
The Kerala Tourism pavilion themed on backwaters and Kalaripayattu was a huge draw among visitors to BITE. The 56-sq m pavilion greeted visitors with visuals of houseboats and martial arts performances. “We are encouraged by the tremendous response from the Chinese tourism industry,” Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar, who is leading the delegation from the State, said. “Considering that it was the first-ever participation of Kerala Tourism in a fair in China, it gives us a lot of confidence for the future” The State was confident of substantially increasing the foreign tourist arrivals by tapping the Chinese market, he added.
