JD(S) sees Cong.-BJP nexus

June 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Janata Dal (S) [JD(S)] leader Mathew T. Thomas has accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of colluding to fracture the anti-government verdict by splitting the votes against the UDF at Aruvikkara.

At a meet-the-press organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club here on Wednesday, Mr. Thomas said the nexus was quite evident in the bar bribery case too. The NDA government had picked up Finance Minister K.M. Mani to head the empowered panel of Finance Ministers on GST and now the director of Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau had resolved to refer the bar bribery case report to the Attorney-General to help Mr. Mani. These deals had exposed the nexus. KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran had also said the report would be referred to the Attorney-General.

Both parties had been claiming that the contest was between them in Aruvikkara, but it might be for the second and third positions as LDF candidate M. Vijayakumar was set to win with a comfortable lead.
