Govt. stance on release of prisoners

The government is for releasing all prisoners who have served 10 years, Minister for Home and Vigilance, Ramesh Chennithala has said.

Speaking after inaugurating the new headquarters of the Prison Department at Poojappura here on Monday, the Home Minister said the State government will go in appeal to clear the practical difficulties in the Supreme Court order to release the prisoners.

New vehicles

The Minister also flagged-off new vehicles procured by the department.

He announced canteen facilities for the prison staff. Minister for Health, V. S. Sivakumar presided over the function.
