Former CEO of VISL invited to the US

Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited and Advisor (Ports) to the Government of Kerala, Dr. Jayakumar has been invited by the United States Department of Commerce for a Special American Business Internship Program in port development scheduled to be held in Washington from October 10 to 24. The internship programme is a collaborative effort between the US government and the private sector, bringing together selected port specialists from South Asia.

Qualification

Dr. Jayakumar, who is currently the CEO of Pondicherry Port Limited, holds a Doctorate from IIT Madras.

He has served the Kerala Harbour Engineering department and Westport Malaysia, besides being the project head for the successful implementation of India’s first wave power plant near Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram.

As the first CEO of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited, he was instrumental in the conceptualisation, planning, project preparation, and structuring for the proposed deepwater commercial port at Vizhinjam.
