Directive on police helplines

State Police Chief T.P. Senkumar has asked police officials to ensure that the emergency helpline numbers of the police are functioning effectively and responding to situations without delay. In a statement, the SPC said the State Police Monitoring Room was to check the functioning of the numbers daily. The numbers are Control Room – 100; Kerala Police Helpline – 0471 3243000, 3244000 and 3245000; Crime Stopper – 1090; Traffic Alert – 1099; Highway Alert Service – 98461 00100; SMS Alerts – 94979 00000; Rail Alert – 98462 00100; Women’s Helpline – 1091; Police Information Centre – 0471 2318188 (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.). — Special Correspondent
