: Communist Party of India (Marxist) district unit secretary Kadakampally Surendran alleged here on Fiday that the Chief Minister’s official website,www.keralacm.gov.in, was being misused for the Aruvikkara by-poll campaign and that this was a public violation of the model code of conduct for elections.

In a statement here, Mr. Surendran said the website had been turned into a campaign mouthpiece of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Congress, despite the website being controlled by the State Information and Public Relations Department, with staff from C-DIT and the CM’s Office handling the site.

Action sought

Demanding that the Election Commission initiate immediate action against such practices by political parties , Mr. Surendran said a complaint, along with documents and proof, had been submitted to the Central Election Commission and the State Chief Electoral Officer.
