Condition of sports school students stable

October 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The condition of two students of G.V. Raja Sports School at Mylam here, who allegedly consumed poison late on Tuesday, was stated to be stable at the Government Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.

The Aruvikkara police said no case was registered yet in connection with the incident, considering the age of the two girls, both Class 12 students.

It was not clear why the girls resorted to the extreme step. Both were good students. A fear of poor performance in the Class 11 improvement examination could be one reason, with one of the girls reportedly indicating to her parents to this effect. However, the parents said both had secured over 60 per cent marks.

The two were found by other students in the school hostel in a serious condition around 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
