CM to deliver message at Children’s Day celebrations

Children’s representatives to lead rally tomorrow

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will deliver the Children’s Day message at a public meeting to be held in connection with the Children’s Day celebrations to be organised by the State government and the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare here on Thursday.

The State-level celebrations will be held at Nishagandhi Auditorium on Kanakakkunnu Palace premises at 12 noon. A Children’s Day rally in which hundreds of children from schools in the district will participate will be taken out from Museum Junction to Kanakakkunnu.

Leaders

Students selected to be children’s representatives at the State level — Amrithasree V. Pillai (Prime Minister), Thameem Ihsan (President), Rosna Joseph (Speaker), Liyos M.V. (welcome address) and Nanma S. (vote of thanks) — will lead the rally.

The winners at the Varnotsavam arts festival organised by the council will be presented with awards on the occasion. Thiruvananthapuram which bagged the most points and lifted the Balabhaskar rolling trophy, Kalathilakam Adilakshmi M., Kalapratibha Saud Jubair, and Carmel Girls Higher Secondary School which bagged the maximum points among schools will be presented with trophies, certificates and mementos.

The Chief Minister will release the Children’s Day stamp, drawn by Carmel Girls High School student Aleena A P., by handing it over to Minister for Women and Child Development K.K. Shylaja.
