A three-day residential Chemistry Camp programme began for school students at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) on Friday.

The programme, which aims to inspire young minds to develop interest in chemical sciences, witnessed the participation of 72 Class 9 students from various parts of the district.

Popularly known as Salters’ Chemistry Camps, it is being jointly organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry India, Salters’ Institute UK and IISER.

The camp activities involved motivating students to develop both awareness of and a long-term interest in chemical sciences. This is the first Chemistry camp being conducted at the IISER. The Salters’ Chemistry Camps India is part of ‘Inspirational Chemistry Programme’ project in India, which is supported by philanthropist and non-executive chairman of Cipla Ltd Yusuf Hamied.
