Ward 9 patients being rehabilitated

The Department of Social Welfare and the Kerala Social Security Mission have arranged for 17 patients from Ward 9 for the destitute at General Hospital who have recovered from their illnesses to be rehabilitated, Minister for Health V.S. Sivakumar has said.

Within four days, 19 more patients will be rehabilitated, a press release issued by the Health Ministry said.

Ten patients had been rehabilitated at the Sreekaryam old-age home, three at the Mulayara home, and one at Poojappura. Three patients had been sent back to their homes after their relatives came forward to receive them.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate had taken steps to transfer 10 patients who had been diagnosed with mental illnesses to the Mental Health Centre.
