April 09, 2013 12:46 pm | Updated September 30, 2016 11:26 pm IST - KOTTAYAM:

The father of the Kiliroor sex-scandal victim has alleged that the former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan had sabotaged the investigation into the case.

Speaking to presspersons at the gates of the residence of Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, he said the former Chief Minister did not take any interest in the case, though he had claimed that he would bring the culprits to book within 24 hours of coming to power.

He said the CBI investigation would only help protect the culprits.

CBI efforts

The agency was not investigating the circumstances that led to his daughter’s death, but confined its efforts to investigation of the rape case.

He was not happy with the CBI investigation, and wanted the Kerala police to investigate it.

Memorandum

He could not hand over a memorandum on these issues to Mr. Radhakrishnan as the Minister was away.
