As many as 600 NCC cadets of the 4 Kerala Battalion are participating in a training camp organised to impart realistic training of important facets of NCC, conduct awareness programmes to inculcate social responsibilities and to screen potential cadets for year- long events.
Of the 600 participants at the camp that is under way at the CRPF Centre Pallipuram from May 13, 280 are girl cadets of the 4 Kerala Battalion NCC based at Neyyantinkara and one of the youngest units of NCC Group Headquarters Thiruvananthapuram.
As part of empowerment of girl cadets, self-defence capsule and mentoring on psychological awareness were organised.
Road safety
Social awareness and responsibility campaign include road safety aspects undertaken by the city traffic wing.
Holistic campaigns to instil the adverse effects of drug abuse was led by the Excise Department.
The other activities include personality development programmes, training on first aid, drill, firing and talent showcasing by cadets on various cultural themes, a defence wing release said here..
