Film actors Umashree, Bhavana, and Adi Lokesh campaigned for the Congress here on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bhavana and Adi Lokesh were formally inducted into the Congress by the AICC Secretary in-charge of Karnataka and Rajya Sabha member Shantharam Naik, at the Congress Bhavan here.

Speaking to presspersons here, Ms. Bhavana said the Congress had a great history. Many eminent persons had served the party.

It was necessary to have good people in the Lok Sabha. When good people were elected, it would naturally lead to good governance in the country.

“I am delighted at joining the Congress and will campaign for the party. I will do whatever work is entrusted to me,” she said.

Mr. Lokesh said that he was joining the Congress as he was inspired by the AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.

“I am a big fan of Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

Ms. Umashree said that people were impressed by the work done by Mr. Hegde earlier as a Minister and MLA. People are in favour of the Congress in the constituency.

“We are not the stars. It is the party which is the star and we work for it and democracy. We want to bring about a change in the country,” Ms. Umashree said.
